A New Year, A New Look, and New Endings and Beginnings

Everything seems to be changing so fast these days and perhaps some of this sensation is coming from some semblances of truths.

With the blink of an eye now being measurable down to the number of nanoseconds between blinks and the Pluto Planetary Status Debate dwarfed in the shadows of the most current universally-driven debate dealing with the odds of something from outside of this atmosphere coming in (since Earth must still be recorded as round [no proof otherwise yet] and Pluto no longer measuring up to established criteria as a planet in our solar system), could it really be that with the flip of a calendar date, we somehow were given another chance to scream out “It’s over!  Do you hear me?  It’s over!” and not be looked up as crazy for injecting such conclusion to such a subjective statement at best.

But that’s exactly what so many of us at least brush past in contemplation, whether its promising to never promise again on that date again (an ending) or the converse of setting in mental stone a promise that is not to be broken no matter what the cost (a beginning).  Either way, it is but a percentage of the population that has a calendar that designates such a date to be reflective of a new year, and I for one have typically practiced New Year’s protocols on my birthday, assuming my sense of logic can still stand on the idea that a true new year is first be recorded one year to the moment of birth and then every subsequent year after that. Once that’s been established, then all of these other New Year’s get thrown into the mix…and yes, this blog has a new look on New Year’s Day!

I think the proper term would be “paradox” when it comes to how I tend to view these seemingly opposite concepts.  With a start and a finish, then you have a clear beginning and an ending, but even at the end of a race, immediately it is the beginning of yet another part of the future making its way into the present so that it can be shuffled into the past…

Beginnings and endings (unlike starts and finishes) sends me a message that they are symbiotic in that it is a perpetual state of both or none.  The transference of labels can certainly be quibbled in all directions,  but keeping them both in a constant state of existence seems to capture the essence of our right to choose at least some of what we want to label as an ending or a beginning while adapting and adjusting to the beginnings and endings we ultimately have no direct and measurable influence over.

It remains quite an eye-opening experience to have lived through so many years of sometimes large quantities fiction being converted to fact and previously relevant facts being relegted to recorded fiction and these experiences will continue on whether I choose to continue to so commonly celebrate a moment in time as a clear beginning while clearly closing the book on what just happened over the days and months that just recently passed until the time period constitutes the period of a year.

Thanks to everyone who has supported my Internet entertainment efforts over the years and here’s to another new beginning that is already long gone…

May there become a peace-filled 2010 for one and all who seek it! :)

New Moment + New Info = New Decision

In this virtual universe of information, the race to rank within search engines is a cut-throat endeavor, complete with pitfalls, fallout and downright dead ends that just don’t belong.  I knew I might show up in a search result or two, but I had no idea local word of mouth would spread so quickly and so strongly!  So to those who are returning once again, welcome back!  And to those of you who have never visited before, welcome to The House That Caera Built for Caera Kirsch Designs.

Since the end of my pursuit of a career as a web designer, despite a period away from the Internet entirely, I continue to be humbled by the skills and knowledge that goes into maintaining such a complex system of communication across the world and have tried to stay at least awake when it comes to the influence and subsequent impact of the trillions of dollars already being invested into the maintenance and growth of such a system…let alone the impact of people such as myself who turn to the Internet for its “free” features such as this blog.

Although my own pursuits at this time remains that of an audio broadcaster of information to the Internet, I still find myself extremely attached to the idea of producing something dealing with educating the consumers of websites, hence the new decision to re-open The House That Caera Built for Caera Kirsch Designs.

This blog will retain its position of relative neutrality and written more as educational material for those seeking more intimate understanding of the inner and outer workings of the Internet.  From time to time, I’ll try to add some software comparisons and reviews  as well  other original (and not always so original) perspectives on the esoteric and the common, for each piece regardless of size, plays some sort of role in this ever-expanding frontier filled with pioneers of all points on the spectrum of humanity…producing and publishing sometimes the darkest of dark to the lightest of light…and not always available for anyone and/or everyone to see.

And since it is my choice to publish via the Internet…it remains my hope that you walk away believing your intellect is more awake and savvy due to something you consumed here in The House That Caera Built for Caera Kirsch Designs.

If you are looking for more Internet security/safety issues, be sure to check out http://valatrax.wordpress.com.  I know…it’s awfully close to a particular pharmaceutical drug, but its not my fault the industry keeps trademarking and copyrighting product names that are derivatives of common words…such as music lyrics being skewered with the attachment of the letter “A” at the end rather than an “S”…

Those types of moves really make search engine results fascinating to watch once and a while!

But in the meantime, its time to stop watching the engine meters and start contributing a little more original content! :)

Happy New Moment everyone!

Closing Up the Collection

To all of the supporters of The Caera Kirsch Collection,

For the past two years, creating and managing The Caera Kirsch Collection brand has been a real rockin’ and rollin’ ride! And despite the sometimes bizarre challenges, it certainly was a thrilling opportunity to push open farther my own creative boundaries while helping friends and family present themselves to the Internet community with their best feet forward…and their eyes wide open. Unfortunately, I also was unable to convert these skills into a career that I could rely upon for a steady and stable income, which is why I have chosen to close up The Caera Kirsch Collection.

Although I will not necessarily miss the responsibility associated with maintaining a web design portfolio (a 24/7 lifestyle can be quite taxing! LOL!), what I definitely will miss is the creative interactions with people from around the world with that twinge of competitiveness to be “one of the best.” I may not have been a top-of-the-line designer, but I’d like to think that I left behind a legacy of being a solid partner and knowledgeable tour guide, along with being a decent ghost writer for at least some of the members of my portfolio.

To those of who entrusted me to “speak” on your behalf, I thank you for such an honor and am grateful for your faith in my abilities and your belief that I was the right person for your particular project.

To the individuals who helped make me look good by freely sharing your own intellectual capital, I remain in awe of the knowledge each of you possess and will remain committed to passing forward some of these lessons I was fortunate enough to learn.

And although this particular creative effort may be coming to a close, I am fired up about my outlook for 2008. In fact, I have already dug out a few original songs that were incomplete and am working on resolving them. I have also started a few brand new ones as well and I’m hoping to drag a few of my musician friends into the studio some time during the summer. Also, there are a few books already in a skeleton format that have been pulled from my archive box and are currently being reviewed for viability (e.g. I have no idea which storyline I can actually write about from Page 1 all the way to that Final Page where I write, “The End” and that the content of the book doesn’t directly contribute to a landfill somewhere…LOL!)

Lastly, an Internet radio show is in its development stage and it will be nice to return to a broadcasting format that doesn’t solely rely on how fast I can type (although the danger is that I frequently talk faster than I type!).

Bob Seger immortalized the idea that anyone can “come back baby ’cause rock and roll never forgets.” Here’s to hoping he’s right!

Thank you again and may we all have an inspired and imaginative 2008!

For the last time in 2007…and beyond

P.S. After careful contemplation, I am going to leave this container “as-is” and will remain hopeful that the information here continues to be helpful to all those who visit even if the time stamps on these entries aren’t considered “recent.” After all, time is relative…right? ;>)
